What do you do with a cute little vintage schoolhouse desk that hasn’t been touched in years? You paint it, of course! And that’s just what I did when I happened across this vintage beauty! All wood and one piece, it was solid and just meant for some fixer-upper work. Check out what I did….
When I got this little gem, it looked like this…
Boring and basic, but at least all the gum had been scraped off the bottom! 🙂 It had great character, knicks and scrapes, lots of stuff that would show through a good coat of paint.
I decided to use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Emperors Silk. It is a true, rich red. What color is better for a vintage schoolhouse desk?
Then I decided that a chalkboard top would add even more character. So I used my wave edge Frog Tape and painted one on.
I am really pleased with the way it turned out. If you are local, it can be yours for $50!
