Summer is such a wonderful time of year. The sun always seems to be shining, things slow down a bit and lemons are plentiful. Lemons make me think that they are little drops of sunshine, so bright and vibrant, packed with flavor. Why wouldn’t you incorporate them into your table setting as well as your food? When I recently entertained for lunch, I set the table with little drops of sunshine in honor of this bright and sunny season. Here is a sunshine and lemon table setting for lunch.
The color yellow is just a happy color. The brighter, the better. And lemons seem to evoke a smile across anyone’s lips. They look like little drops of sunshine. When paired with some bright yellow daisies on a sunny day, they make an adorable centerpiece. I put them inside of some glass jars, just to change it up a bit. I love the way it looks.
These lemony centerpieces are a riff on the placemats and napkins by Kate Spade. I fell in love with them the minute I saw them. (If you love them too, you can shop the look at the end of the post.) The bright green and yellow in the patterns are so perfect for summer entertaining.
The sunshine and lemons table setting is the perfect way to offset my black and white dining area and kitchen. I did black and white on purpose when I decorated. They are two colors that never go out of style and match everything. Therefore, I can set a table any way I like and not have to worry about something clashing. Plus, the black and white makes everything pop…. especially this yellow.
The daisies I used along with the lemons were super affordable and I purchased them at the grocery store. The dishes I already had and mixed and matched different sets to match the colors in the Kate Spade linens. The yellow plates are fun when classed up with the silver rimmed wedding china my aunt gave me.
