Spring is here! Even snow is melting in Boston! Hooray! I am so excited. The weather has been warm here. The windows have been open and now it’s time to add some flowers. And clean. And generally just spring-ify the house! So I got started with a little trip to Hobby Lobby to get some fake flowers just to add some color and spring decor. I prefer real flowers, but my son has such severe seasonal allergies that too many real ones in the house could send him into a sneezing fit. So I got a mix of both.
To me, forsythia branches are the first sign of spring. Their bright yellow hue and adorable little flowers say “Hooray! It’s Spring!” I love them. And Hobby Lobby had a great fake branch, perfect for my keeping room.
My daughter picked out these white ones. I have no idea what they are, but they look cute in a little pewter vase on the side table.
And the real ones. Just one pitcher with a few of my favorites in it, hydrangeas. These aren’t quite open yet so they should just burst and announce spring’s arrival. I like to keep flowers on my kitchen island. It’s the room I’m in the most so it is a great treat to have them around all day.
How do you spring-ify your home?
