Mother Nature decided to throw us a nice curve ball here in the South. Just a week ago it was snowing. Yes, SNOWING in North Carolina in March! I had already decorated for spring! The nerve! But it didn’t stop me and I’ve still been filling my house with beautiful blooms and colorful objects as I prepare for spring to really settle in. You hear that, Mother Nature, I WANT SPRING! So here is my spring home tour because I will not give up hope that spring weather is on its way!
My mantra for making my home feel like spring is “just add flowers!” It works every time. Especially in the kitchen when it can be difficult to “decorate”. I also changed up my kitchen towels to reflect more spring colors.
Hydrangeas are my favorite flowers. So when warmer weather hits, I bring them home from the store every chance I get. I like to break up large bundles and create smaller arrangements throughout the house. It really adds a little something to each room.
If you didn’t already know this, I change out pillow covers for the seasons. I have a whole closet full of pillow covers and inserts. I really feel that it changes the look of an entire room. So for spring I chose some wonderful botanical print pillows and paired them with crisp green velvet pillows.
In my office I decided to really add a pop of color! I just love these watercolor floral pillow covers. They really add color and happiness to my white chairs.
Little groupings of flowers here and there are essential to spring decorating. Even if they are fake. I bought these dogwood stems las year and they are so lifelike! I love them! They add the perfect touch of spring to my master bedroom.
Just adding pops of color and florals everywhere, really gives my home a fresh feeling. The dining room is that “never used” room but I still try to add seasonal things here and there. These purple lavender stems work perfectly in my vintage dough bowl.
Happy spring and happy decorating! Check out next week when myself and another group of talented bloggers show off our spring tablescaping skills!
