It is warming up here in NC and my Spring fever is in full effect. It was in the 70’s last weekend and is supposed to be more of the same this weekend. So all I can do is throw open the windows and start adding some spring touches here and there. The warm weather and the sun shining always puts me in a good mood! For those of you who are still covered in snow, I am so sorry and I am hoping that thoughts of warmer weather can keep you going until it comes!
There are several places that I tend to spruce up first and get ready for this sweet season. I like to place some flower sprigs here and there just to add color. Pier 1 and Pottery Barn have the best faux florals, in my opinion. Because who really has the time or $ to put fresh flowers out each week?!
I love my dough bowl. I always fill it with either greenery or flowers or fruit. It always has something in it. I never decorate with purple so when I saw these faux lavender bundles, I had to grab them. The look great against the dark brown walls of my dining room.
The bedroom is a great place to refresh and decorate for spring. I change out my bedding for the seasons. In winter I usually opt for dark colors and in the spring and summer I lighten it up. This ikat set from Pottery Barn was one I hunted for. I saw it in a catalog but they didn’t sell it anymore by the time I got around to purchasing it. So I had to buy it on eBay. (New, with tags, thank you very much!)
I already wrote about the pretty blush pink I added to my great room. It is just perfect as a spring color. That will stay put until everything starts to turn green outside. Then I have the perfect green additions to make the outside look like it is inside too!
How do you decorate for spring? It’s such a fun season! Everything is new and fresh. It feels wonderful to be outside. Backyard entertaining is just around the corner! I can’t wait!
