Have you all been to an antique market lately? Did you find anything good? Well, I recently went on an antique market shopping trip that changed my whole perspective on fun finds. Eddie Ross, editor at BHG, author and antique hunter extraordinaire, came to Charlotte. He took a group of us around the Metrolina Expo and pointed out the items that he would gravitate to and how he would use them. Oh, and he signed a few books for us too!
Do you usually pass by all of those tables of mismatched silverware or plates? You shouldn’t. Eddie can set the most gorgeous table using these fun pieces. Or what about that funky little trinket that you just love but have no use for? What about stacking it on a chuck of lucite or some stacked books to give it a presence and decorate a room?
Now, I have to say, not only is Eddie brilliant and talented, he is fun and witty and kind. He was so knowledgable too! Clearly he studies up on his antiques!
I absolutely love his book, Modern Mix. It contains fantastic eye candy. You will find yourself going back to it over and over. And once you read it, you will never look at an antique market in the same way again.
