Powder Room Reveal

This powder room has been a process….. a 2 year process to be exact.  Mostly because I had an idea that kept evolving.  And I kept messing stuff up.  But it is finally finished and I am so happy with it.  It came out exactly as I had hoped.  I hope you like it too!

Do you remember how it started out?  Well, I do.  And I try not to think about it too much.

Awful light fixture?  Check.

Horrible faux painting?  Double check.

Then it got a good sanding, a coat of primer, black paint and finally a stencil.  All for one little, tiny powder room.  But it was soooo worth it!

The stencil is from Royal Design Studio Stencils.  It was so easy to apply.  I used Caviar by Sherwin Williams on the walls in a flat and then used Caviar in a satin finish for the stencil.  The tone on tone really makes it look like wallpaper.

I decided to accent the black with emerald green.  Do you remember my green mirror mishap?   In the end it turned out OK.  I had it over the sink but felt it was a tad undersized.  I found a new mirror and put the green one on the other wall.  All of the mirrors have been from Homegoods as well as the green cabinet.  The rug is from World Market.

I now love this little room.  It’s bold, yet classic.  It was worth the mind changing and the mishaps.
