It has been a WHILE since I have participated in a One Room Challenge! Mostly because of time. It is a commitment! But I always love seeing what people accomplish in just 6 weeks. There are usually several that just blow me away! I love participating because it forces me to finish a room, but it also surrounds me with wonderfully creative and talented people from all over the country! I can’t wait to get started on my daughter’s bedroom for this one.
This is the mood board for my daughter’s room. She is a Serena and Lilly lover as well as Lilly Pulitzer so navy and white with a little pop of color and LOTS of pattern will do the trick! Currently, her bedroom is painted a pale turquoise blue and has lots of purples and pinks. She is over it! I think I’ve created a monster by being a designer because she wants to change her decor ALL THE TIME!
This is her room now:
It’s pretty bright and eclectic…. we need to pare it down. But we have a few challenges….
The horse show ribbons, for example…. My daughter is a competitive equestrian and the ribbons are taking over her room! They don’t really work well with the whole scheme that we have going on. But she is so proud of them, as she should be! So we have to find room for them somewhere.
She had a chair in the corner of her room that was hot pink but that was the first thing to go. Now we have to replace it with something else. (Sorry for the Christmas trees! This was the only photo I had of the chair!)
I definitely think the more coastal modern feel with do wonders for the space!!! We already have the day bed so that piece is taken care of. And I would like to keep the desk. Now let’s work on everything else!!!
