Do you have any plans for Mother’s Day? It is this Sunday, you know. So if you haven’t planned anything for your special mom, you still have a few days. And this DIY will only take you a few minutes to make. It smells divine and anyone can make it, including the kids! Here’s you Mother’s Day gift idea: homemade lavender salt and sugar scrub.
Making this scrub was so much fun for me. I can’t wait to give it to all of the best mom’s I know, including my own. And you just won’t believe how simple it is to make! It creates the most elegant homemade gift and the fragrance from the lavender is so soothing. I was relaxed just making it!
Here is what you need to make 1 batch, which makes 2 jars:
1 C. lavender scented epsom salts
1 C. sugar
1 C. natural coconut oil
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl until well combined. The mixture will be grainy and crumbly so don’t expect it to stick together perfectly.
Carefully spoon the mixture into each jar and close. I purchased Ball canning jars so they were super affordable. (There will be a full list of items needed at the end of this post.) I also purchased open stock spoons from Target at $2 each. I tied some ribbon around the spoons, layered the top with lavender colored tissue paper, and then tied the ribbon around the tissue. This way your special mom can use the spoon to scoop out the desired amount of scrub.
