Do you subscribe to Food Network Magazine? I do and every time it comes my mouth starts to water. The front cover always looks good enough to eat! So this week on Try It Tuesday, I decided to do little contest. Mine vs. theirs on their Kale-Potato Soup with Bacon. It’s on the cover.
Not too bad. Considering they have professional photographers and editors, I think I did ok. Now for the taste. It’s good. Not as good as it looks, but good. I ended up adding a lot more salt than the recipe calls for. A LOT. And the kale has a very earthy taste that isn’t really cooked out. What I would do differently is cook the kale down with some soy sauce instead of adding worsterchire. And I just don’t get the sour cream addition. I’d omit that and add more bacon. Yum.
