OK, y’all, I know that kale chips are so good for you and you should eat them every day and blah, blah, blah….. It’s taken me a while to like them. I have only started to like them because a good friend of mine turned me on to her way of making them. I could eat these all day!
This recipe satisfies the sweet and the salty on that crisp little leaf of kale. Did you think it was possible? I didn’t!
You need 1 whole bag of kale, rinsed, stems removed. Dry the kale really well so the flavors stick to the leaves.
You also need 2 Tbsp. of EVOO, 1 Tbsp. of brown sugar and salt to taste. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Place your oven rack in the center of the oven.
In a huge bowl, toss your kale with the EVOO. Spread the kale in an even layer on a large cookie sheet. Sprinkle with the salt and brown sugar. Bake in the oven form 15 minutes or so. Keep your eye on them! This is where I always burn them. Just check up on them to make sure they aren’t turning brown and burnt.
When most of the moisture is gone from the kale and they are crispy and dark green, they are done.
Now plop down on the couch with a bowl of these and watch the Real Housewives of Wherever and don’t feel guilty at all!!
