You know that phrase, less is more? Well, I live by it when it comes to my table settings. I like to serve everything family style so there needs to be plenty of room on the table for the food. There are some folks out there that can set the most stunning table. I mean, visually it is just amazing and belongs in a magazine. For me, it’s about function and food. That’s all you need during the holiday season, right? Well, I throw in a few pretty flowers too.
The red and white theme even has to show up in my table setting. I didn’t stray from it. I used my favorite hydrangeas, beautiful white roses and a pop of red roses to make some beautiful centerpieces.
Candles add to the ambience of the dining room. We have a square table so finding a table cloth is rather difficult. So I opt for a couple of runners, laid perpendicular to each other. I use chargers under our dinner and salad plates instead of place mats. Again, I’m all about the simplicity of it.
Cute little jingle bells become my napkin rings this year. My napkins actually say “jingle” at some point so I thought it was appropriate. They also say “joy”, “merry”, “peace” and “holly”.
Do you have a kids table at your house? I do. And just because the kids don’t get to sit with the adults doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t have cute place settings.
I mean honestly, how cute are these plates?! I took out the Christmas printed plates as well for even more fun. And some elegant water glasses make the kids feel as fancy as the adults.
Which puppy do you want?
On both tables there is plenty of room for the food. Now just add friends and family and you have the perfect dining table for a holiday feast, in my opinion. Happy Holidays!
