Picture the scene – the Nutcracker suite is playing in the background. The stockings are hung, the gifts are wrapped, the house is clean. What?! The house is clean? Grab the camera! That is typically how it works. But I FINALLY was able to take some full room shots because the house is clean. So thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy my clean house and part 2 of my holiday home tour.
As you all know, this is our first Christmas in our new home. If you don’t know, we gut renovated the ugliest house in the best neighborhood. My children walk to school, they have tons of friends in the neighborhood, and I have found some of the most wonderful women that seriously feel like my long lost sisters. It really is the BEST place to live. And I adore my house. This was my first big renovation project as a decorator and I think I have found my passion. Seriously. The entire main living area took on a whole new life.
We love to entertain and the holiday are the perfect time of year to do it. Don’t you agree? I really think everyone’s house looks the best at Christmas time. Any home is warm and inviting with the glow of a Christmas tree and stockings by the mantle.
Up until this year, I always struggled to decorate a kitchen. I never know what is going to look right, what will clutter my counters and drive me nuts, what looks tacky…. But this year I think my kitchen lends itself to more decorating. I love my light fixtures so I had to make those shine. And I stumbled across these marble trees at Target and had to have them!
Everyone typically gathers in the kitchen so I’m so glad to have the dining area right here.
I really went full on RED this holiday season. It is my favorite color so using it only at Christmas is hard. It doesn’t bother me to have so much around the house. I think it works great with the black and white of my kitchen.
A few little touches of Christmas were put into my master bedroom, aka, Santa’s workshop. Truth be told, this room underwent a great transformation, but it is the last thing on my list to truly decorate.
The kids get out of school for break on Friday so I’m off to finish up my last minute shopping! Thank you for stopping by! Tune in next week and I’ll be showing off the fun spaces like the game room and my kids rooms!
