I had the privilege of going on a Historic Home Tour this weekend with my wonderful friend Laura. She was so kind to invite me to go! And of course I was super excited! This tour did not disappoint. It was full of beautifully decorated homes lovingly restored to their time period, yet made to accommodate all the modern conveniences of the current time. What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon?
There were 7 homes on this tour in historic downtown Concord, NC. There were 4 homes that really stood out to me. One in particular will get it’s own post. It was just that gorgeous.
We started out here on Union Street.
And the inside was just as beautiful as the outside!
The walls in this dining room were actually a dark navy, although they look black in this photo.
The newly renovated kitchen was light and bright with this wonderful breakfast area. I was in love!
Laura dragged me out of there and on we went to an absolutely stunning mansion.
People we passed on the street said that this was the best one! And it did not disappoint.
The vibrant front sitting room and the sunroom were favorite spots of the homeowner. She said that she wanted every room in the house to be lived in, not just for show.
This kitchen boasted hand painted tile from the early 1900’s, all beautifully preserved, even though the kitchen has been updated.
This guest bedroom had the most magnificent light and just look at those floors! I fell in love with the floors.
The master bathroom was a gorgeous example of a renovation that was done with the thought of the time period always top of mind. Isn’t it beautiful?
And now on to the next….. a fantastic Victorian with a secret attic and maids quarters in the basement. We weren’t allowed to see those, but I’ll show you the best of what we did see!
It was beginning to get dark when I toured this home so sorry for the blurry photos. I wasn’t going to lug my tripod along too!
Just look at the sweet little girl’s room and the tree in her playroom. Just adorable!
I hoped you enjoyed these historic homes. I will have another later on along with my own holiday home tour!
