Well, it’s done. We have sold our house and purchased another. And even though I am super excited to start on this new adventure, I had a very difficult time saying goodbye to our old house. I put so much in to it that I almost didn’t recognize it from when we moved in. Here’s a little recap of what I started with and what I left behind. I loved that house. She needed some love to bring out her beauty and I feel as though I did it.
This house was a dream come true for my husband and I. We used to drive through the neighborhood when we were first married and had $2 to our name and say “Someday we will live here.” So when we did it was truly a testament to the power of hard work and determination.
But of course, when it was time to move we were only able to buy the “ugly duckling”. Nothing sits on the market for more than a couple of weeks in this neighborhood and this one was on the market for 6 months. I saw the potential. Most of it just needed some paint.
Here are some of the before’s:
Here’s what we turned it into:
And here’s how we left it:
I walked through the house, touching the walls and looking around, crying and saying thank you, over and over. This house allowed me to be creative, to realize my passion and to prove that dreams come true. And because of all of that, it is now someone else’s dream. I hope they love this house as much as we did.
