How was your weekend? Football filled like mine? I have to say, I am not a big football fan, but it’s hard not to get swept up in all the excitement over our Carolina Panthers this season. They are doing so great! I will always be a Patriots fan, but the Panthers are my home town team, so I cheer for both. And on days when the Panthers are playing, somebody always ends up at the house to watch with us. Then I’m left scrambling to make something yummy for everyone to eat. I have come up with the perfect, simple, hearty and tasty solution for any day – Game Day Stromboli.
Stromboli is kind of like a pizza roll. All the yummy goodness of pizza rolled up in its own crust. This time around I made pepperoni and sausage stromboli. But you can throw in any old pizza topping and it will still be delicious.
Here is what you will need:
1 package of Pillsbury pizza dough
1 bag of shredded mozzarella
sliced pepperoni
sweet Italian sausage, cooked
jarred pizza sauce
Roll out the pizza dough. Layer on the cheese, then the meats. Roll it back up into a log. Bake, according to the pizza dough package, then add 10 minutes. Allow to cool just a little then slice and serve with a side of pizza sauce. Easy as that!
