Here it is….. another furniture makeover. Some bedside tables are the star of this painting story. A client got them from her grandparents and wanted to use them in her guest room. But they needed an update. I decided to have some fun with black and white.
Here is what they started out like:
The client and I decided to go for a black and white scheme. Her guest room is done in grey so they would fit in perfectly. And instead of replacing the hardware, which was in perfectly good condition, we decided to turn it silver with a little Rub n Buff. That stuff is amazing! You can get it here.
I set to work painting the tables black first. I also removed the inner panel because I had an idea on what to do with that.
Once the black was painted, waxed and dried, I began with the white. The client told me to use my “inner Martha Stewart” to do as I wish to make these night stands look special. I love it when clients do that. It makes it more fun!
I sprayed the inner panels with mirrored spray paint to add a little extra shine. And I distressed the white to reveal the black underneath. It looked so cool! The client and I were both really pleased with how it all turned out.
