Remember when I created my 2015 Home Goals? At the very bottom I noted that something needs to be done with all of the bathrooms. Well, I have started to put together some inspiration, mostly bathroom inspiration. 2 of our toilets are leaking (not as gross as it sounds but bad from a water damage stand point) so we need to replace them. And it has spurred a whole discussion as to how we want these bathrooms to go because they are all ugly.
The bathrooms all need a little love. I have almost completed the powder room. So I feel like I am on a roll! Next on my list is my son’s bathroom. I really want him to have a boyish space that can grow with him. We are fortunate enough that our children can each have their own bathroom attached to their bedroom. The spaces can really reflect our kiddos. I have started a Pinterest board for my son’s spaces. But here are some of the inspirational spaces and items I used for him.
I love this industrial shelving from Beneath My Heart. This is exactly the vibe I’m going for in my son’s room and bathroom. We’ll see if I can get my other half to help me construct this somewhere!
The beams and Edison style sconces really caught my eye in this Tahoe bathroom I found on Houzz.
Then, the other day, my kids and I went to Lowe’s and saw this display.
And it was all on sale. We are headed out to get it soon. And so I found a faucet from Home Depot and light fixture from Minka Lavery. Now all I need is paint and a mirror and I’m in business!
My daughter’s bathroom is a little more complicated. You see, she isn’t afraid of color! You can see her bedroom here, and you will understand. And she has chosen turquoise for her bathroom. I think she needs some glam and bling in there too, because she is a very girly girl. So here is the inspiration from PB teen:
We found this light also from Minka Lavery and this mirror from Overstock.
I plan on painting her existing cabinets and maybe adding a bit of trim to the room as well. I would like to just keep turquoise as the accent and not the paint on the walls. She’s fighting me on it, but mom always wins! (or at least I try to tell myself that.)
As for the master bathroom, I have loftier expectations. You can see a little bit of what it looks like here. We have a vaulted ceiling in there so I can see adding some beams. We need 4 new light fixtures and 5 new faucets (2 sinks, 1 tub and 2 shower). I can’t even let myself think about it until I have the budget. So tune in 2016! Just kidding. Maybe.
