Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. The weather was beautiful here and I actually got outside and got some painting done. I have lots of treasures stacked in my garage just waiting for a makeover.
I have one makeover in particular that I have been meaning to share with you all. It is a beautiful vintage dresser that I found at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. It was love at first sight!
I mean, just look at those legs! I just couldn’t pass it up. It started off like this:
There was a missing knob, a lot of dust and some veneer that was peeling. But that didn’t stop me! I brought it home and did what, oh yes, let it sit in my garage for a couple months. (because that’s how I roll) Once I got around to it, I decided that a crisp and glossy white was just the ticket for this gal! I found some acrylic knobs and I was in business.
It got a good sanding and some wood glue, a coat of primer and spray lacquer. I didn’t worry too much about getting into every little crack and crevasse. I liked that it made the piece look its age without me having to go back and distress it.
This piece was meant for my daughter’s room, but I decided to bring it up to my booth. If she doesn’t sell soon I may bring her home. I’m that much in love!
