I just keep chipping away at my gallery wall. I love having a gallery wall, but I struggle with it. Because I don’t want it to be too matchy-matchy, but I also don’t want it to be a complete hodge-podge of stuff. It’s a delicate balance for me. However, with the help of my friends at Minted.com, I have been able to get some amazing art to add to the space, mix it up a bit, but keep the look cohesive.
Do you remember when I wrote about our gallery wall here? Well, it has stayed looking that way ever since. I have wanted to add to it, but I have just felt paralyzed. It is a huge focal point in the house. It needs to be done right. And too many family photos can look cheesy. But that’s what a gallery wall is for, right?
Our dog is part of our family. I knew that he needed his own photo up on this gallery wall. Minted makes it easy to upload your own photo and turn it into art. Using one of their pre-made designs, I just uploaded my favorite photo of Murphy, chose my frame and they did the rest.
North Carolina is our home. Of course that is special! So when I saw this piece by GeekInk Design, I knew it had to be part of our gallery wall. The gold foil catches the light from our windows and since it’s not a family photo, but still has meaning to our family, it is just great in keeping with my “not too matchy, not too un-matchy” way of thinking.
I love the way this wall has come together. It really does sum up our family and it isn’t an overpowering gallery wall. It is simple and special. Thanks to Minted.com for helping me out. They have such an amazing array of art, please check it out! Now I’m on the hunt for some really great candle sconces or something to fill in the blank space between the pictures.
