I love furniture. If it were up to me, I’d buy new stuff all the time. My problem is that I only buy what I love. Any interior designer will tell you that buying what you love is not a problem. But it is for me. See, then I can’t get rid of anything. And when I find something new that I love, I don’t have room for it! That is my problem. However, thanks to a good reupholsterer, I can give my old furniture a new look. It’s almost like buying something new. I get the thrill of picking out new fabric and when the furniture comes back to me, it’s like Christmas morning! Recently I did the club chairs that were in my bedroom. Previously, they were in my great room at my old house, but now they sat in my master bedroom where they didn’t match a thing! And when I put my new bedding on, they really didn’t match. I had fabric already picked out. (That’s another one of my problems. I buy fabric and don’t do anything with it.) I was ready to go! Here is what the chairs looked like before: Very dark and heavy. I wanted to lighten them up. Here is my fabric scheme: Some stripes with contrast piping and script pillows (which are in the works). Here is how they turned out: Love it! I am so happy! Now just to hang curtains and get those pillows sewn. Then my master bedroom will be done – for now.
