As strange as this may sound, the 4th of July is my favorite holiday. Seriously….. fireworks, bar-b-ques, being outside with friends….. it’s the best! And the easiest way to keep everyone happy before they settle in for fireworks is to serve up a spread of hotdogs, fresh off the grill. 4th of July hotdogs always taste fantastic!
Serving hotdogs can seem a little ho-hum. It’s all in the presentation. I used my trusty bar cart to set up a fun hotdog serving station with french fries and the necessary condiments to make your hot dog the best. Putting the condiments in little jars just makes them look better. Plus, these little Ball jars are just plain cute!
The 4th of July is really about being with friends and family. My kids love to run around like crazy with their friends, catching fireflies and playing with sparklers. So setting up this “grab and go” hotdog station is a winner.
I wrapped the hot dogs in serving paper to keep them warm while the kids play. Once they get hungry, they can just grab one without missing a beat. The french fries are easily accessible as well. Just grab a tray and they are off once again!
How do you like your hotdogs? My favorite way to eat mine is with mustard, sauerkraut and onions! It’s a bit different than the old ketchup and mustard, but it is so good!
This holiday is right around the corner. I suspect many of you will be celebrating this weekend. Be safe and enjoy some 4th of July hotdogs. And fireworks!
