My mind has been spinning with the new year. I love when a new year begins. All of the holiday decorating comes down and it’s almost like you have a blank slate. We have lived in our home for almost 2 years and I still have so many improvements that I want to make (and finish!). In 2015 I have several goals for my home, projects to complete and things to try. Here are just a few. (I really should take a better photo of my house. Add that to the list!)
First of all, I’d like to finish what I have started…… my powder room. My powder room has been half done for a year. Yes, A YEAR! I have nobody to blame but myself. It is first on my list. It started like this:
Now it’s like this:
At least there has been progress. I’d like to add stencil and a some great art, find an awesome rug, and get it done!
Next is the guest bedroom. It’s just blah. No sense of style. No wow factor. Just blah.
I plan to change that with some orange! Who doesn’t love orange? (in small doses, that is) I’ve also seen some IKEA hacks that I’d like to try for furniture and some DIY trim/wall treatments that are on my list too. I’ve picked out bedding and paint colors (Pottery Barn and Sherwin Williams).
My laundry room is on the list. It has these hideous green cabinets in it. They are awful. I’d like to paint those and make the best use of storage in there. Because there are lots of hideous green cabinets. (Don’t ya love the photos? I just let it all hang out, literally.)
Something needs to be done with ALL of the bathrooms. They all have the same white counter tops that have seen better days, dated fixtures and boring cabinets. It’s time to put some style in there! My son’s bathroom will be first. They are all so bad I can’t even bring myself to photograph them. Honestly. (sigh.)
